Introduction
|
Hotel Scandinavia - The origins of the palazzo that hosts the Hotel Scandinavia go back deep in time. The building dates from the year 1000 and it is said that this is the very place where Desdemona met Othello, the Moor of Venice.
The palazzo was renovated in the 16th century by the Trevisan family, a wealthy merchant dynasty, that lived in it for generations.
Even the Rialto Bridge over the Grand Canal is extremely close to the Hotel Scandinavia: it takes just a few minutes on foot to see one of the most famous bridges in the world. Of all the hotels of Venice, the Hotel Scandinavia has one of the best locations!
Even the setting of the Hotel Scandinavia is unique. Our palazzo overlooks Campo di Santa Maria Formosa, where you can see the church that dates from 1492 and the Baroque bell tower built in 1688. |
