Introduction
|
The Hotel Saturnia & International is housed in palace built in the 14th century (one of the oldest in Venice) that was owned by the Pisani Family, whose most illustrious member, Vettor Pisani (1324-1380) was appointed Admiral of the powerful Republic of Venice during the conflicts with the Genoese fleet over who should control merchant trading in the Mediterranean sea.
Established in 1908 by Ugo and Zoe Serandrei, the hotel has been managed by the same family for four generations, welcoming guests from all over the world, creating a solid tradition of hospitality.
The large salon on the ground floor, characteristic of Venetian patrician palaces, captures the ambience of ancient Venice.
The hotel's interior boasts elegant furnishings, in keeping with early 20th-century style, which is evident in the marble bas-reliefs, in the hammered metal lamps, tinted glass and lacunar ceiling. |

Hotel Saturnia & International offers restaurant La Caravella, famous since its refurbishment in 1963 and name change from Ciro's bar, it is one of Venice's historic venues. Its elegant ambience, recreating the interior of an ancient sailing ship, has welcomed guests from all over the world for forty years.
The brigade, commanded by owner Alberto Serandrei, offers traditional Venetian and international cuisine: from the delicate fennel and lobster risotto, sea bass filets with toasted pine nuts, and grilled leek with basil.
The food is accompanied by an interesting wine list and excellent service. During the summer La Caravella serves its guests in the open air, in a typically Venetian plant-filled courtyard adjacent to its winter premises. |

The Hotel Saturnia & International offers 91 rooms are all different, with bathroom equipped with hair dryer, mini bar, telephone, Internet connection, satellite television with radio, digital combination safe, sprinkler and individually-controlled air conditioning.
Some rooms have exposed beams or lacunar ceilings, others feature a calce rasata finish (traditional Venetian method of finishing walls). All rooms are stylishly furnished.
After a refreshing night's sleep, guests can enjoy a rich buffet-style breakfast in the Cortile room. In the summer season, it is served in our typical Venetian courtyard. |
